Why this app exists

I started developing Listly as a kind of “wishlist on steroids.” I wanted a simple way to keep track of the things I wanted to buy for myself and share them with friends and family whenever they asked, “What do you want?”

Over time, the idea grew into something bigger. Wishlists are great, but occasions like weddings, birthdays, and baby showers deserve something more collaborative and meaningful. That’s when I decided to turn Listly into a full **gift registry platform** — while still keeping personal lists free for everyone.

The app is built on a few simple principles:

1. Simplicity: Easy and enjoyable to use.
2. Collaboration: Families & friends can plan in real-time.
3. Flexibility: Every event is unique, so Listly adapts with templates and customization.

Beyond the product, Listly is also my passion project — a way to sharpen my development and design skills while making something real people can use.
